I offer therapy sessions both in-person and online to provide flexible options. In-person sessions are available at my office in Oakland, CA for local clients who prefer the experience of being in the same room together.
For those further away or who prefer the convenience, online sessions via secure video are available for adults in California or Pennsylvania. Many clients enjoy online therapy from the comfort of their own home or office, without travel time. Others find the in-person connection more conducive to their needs.
The choice depends on your personal preference, location, and schedule availability.

While I don't currently accept insurance directly, I'm happy to assist you in seeking reimbursement from your provider. However, I can provide you with the necessary paperwork (superbill/receipt) for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement for a portion of the session fee.
Please know that not all insurance plans offer reimbursement for out-of-network providers, and some plans may have a deductible or an allowable amount. I recommend calling the customer service number on the back of your card and speaking to a representative for details about your specific plan.

A superbill serves as an invoice that outlines the date of service, diagnosis code, treatment codes, and fees charged.
Superbills contain all the necessary information for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement under your health plan. The superbill documents the services rendered and fees paid, allowing your insurance to process any applicable out-of-network benefits.
I'm happy to supply a superbill after each appointment so you have the option to file for reimbursement yourself. However, reimbursement is never guaranteed and depends on your specific insurance coverage.

My fee is $200 per 50-minute session. Payment is due at the time of the appointment. I accept all major credit cards.

As a healthcare provider in California, I am required by law to notify you about your right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your medical care will cost.
A Good Faith Estimate is a document that provides the expected charges for certain services and items related to your care. This estimate outlines the fees you are expected to pay out-of-pocket if you do not have insurance or if you choose not to use your insurance.
For each service or item listed, the Good Faith Estimate will include:
Description of the service/item
Expected charge for the service/item
Any applicable diagnosis codes
Expected charges for additional services you might need
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency services, including psychotherapy services. This will include all costs for services that could reasonably be provided for your period of care.
Please note that this Good Faith Estimate is not a contract and does not require you to obtain services from me. It is simply an estimate based on the information available at the time of your request.
To request a Good Faith Estimate for services, please contact me lyca@balancewithinchaos.com or 925-725-9530.
